Welcome!
This page is dedicated to writing.
For many years I was American Thought Editor, columnist and frequent contributor of articles for USA Today Magazine, which (as have all too many nonprofits) ceased due to lack of funding. Other publications include St. Anthony Messenger, The Priest, and the Journal of Counseling and Development.
I am venturing now into the world of fiction, launching a series based in the fictional west-central Florida town of Sunflower Beach. The first novel, Falling Feathers, was released in August 2025. In Falling Feathers, Alex, a middle-aged librarian, wife and mother, tries to reclaim her life despite the constant interference of family and friends trying to be “helpful.” I hope you enjoy!

The second novel in the series, Never Just One, focuses on Beth, Alex’s daughter-in-law, who seems to have the perfect life, and slowly discovers that, when it comes to lies, there is never just one. Never Just One was published in November, 2025.

The fourth book in the series, a collection of short stories about Sunflower Beach characters familiar and new, is coming out October 1, 2026.
In Postcards from Sunflower Beach, In twelve short stories set in fictional Sunflower Beach, In Postcards from Sunflower Beach, familiar faces and places and new characters interweave through twelve stories encompassing several generations. The owner of the Mr. Twisty ice cream shop reflects on his life. A business owner’s lie results in months of public humiliation. MaryAnn cares for her husband during his disappearance into dementia. Matt, Tim, their family, friends and a priest wrestle with questions of faith, love and what it means to be family. Aidan meets and marries Rachel despite family concerns in the US and Ireland – and eventually their daughter starts a rumpus of her own. Jonah grudgingly comes home for a Christmas visit, and can’t make sense of the changes he sees. Dr. Sam, Will, Andrea and other therapists meet monthly, giving a glimpse into the challenges unique to small-town life. Gloria terrifies Veronica with an invitation to lunch. An abused and abandoned teenager dares to accept kindness. Victor helps his wife through cancer and finds spiritual healing. Grieving Katie and broken-hearted Rafael meet – and only Phil the bartender knows if it was just luck. And, at Evelyn’s European Salon, Evelyn ponders retirement and her salon’s reputation as the town gossip hub.
