I don’t remember this, but before I was two years old, I had already gotten in trouble for coloring all over the walls of my parents’ apartment with a purple crayon. I wish I could say that was the only time my artistic urges went astray (there was that German Shepherd in pencil on the spare bedroom wall when I was four …).
In the 1990s I focused on colored pencil but since the mid-2010’s have primarily worked in pastel. This page is under construction, so, for now, here are a few works available:
Enchanted Forest 2: this 12×12 pastel is based on my photo reference from our hike on the southern tip of the Appalachian Trail. It is Nimblewood Gap, where steps mysteriously vanish into the forest.Alafia Sunrise: this approx. 11 x 15 pastel painting was the morning view from our campsite in Alafia River State Park, Florida. Some of those silvery ripples out there are gators!Hot Afternoon Walk, 9 x 12 pastel, really was a hot afternoon – well into the nineties in west Central Florida as I painted outdoors. This piece won an award at Tarpon Art Guild, 2024.Not a painting … this midsize gator was my plein air art critic in May!
